Terms of Service
Last updated: March 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Oahu Prep website at oahuprep.com (the "Site") or any tutoring services provided by Oahu Prep LLC ("Oahu Prep," "I," "me," or "my"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or services.
2. Services
Oahu Prep provides one-on-one tutoring in mathematics, test preparation, computer science, and related subjects. Sessions are available online via Zoom or in person on Oahu. All tutoring is provided personally by Taylor Berukoff — Oahu Prep does not subcontract or assign sessions to other tutors.
3. Free Introductory Session
Oahu Prep offers a free introductory session to prospective clients. This session is a 30-minute online Zoom meeting intended to discuss the student's needs, goals, and whether Oahu Prep is a good fit. No payment information is required to schedule a free intro session, and there is no obligation to purchase services afterward.
4. Pricing and Payment
Tutoring is available at an hourly rate or through multi-hour packages. Current prices are listed on the Pricing page of the Site. Package pricing reflects a discounted effective hourly rate as a reward for commitment.
Payment may be made via Stripe (credit/debit card) at the listed price, or via direct payment methods at a discounted rate. Specific pricing is displayed on the Site. Direct payment details are provided upon request.
There are no enrollment fees and no long-term contracts. Each package is a one-time purchase.
5. Package Validity
Purchased tutoring packages do not expire. You may use your hours on your own schedule. However, if no sessions are scheduled and no contact is made for a continuous period of 12 months, Oahu Prep reserves the right to consider the package inactive. In that case, I will reach out to you before making any changes to your remaining balance. Unused hours are not refundable except at Oahu Prep's sole discretion.
6. In-Person Sessions and Travel Time
For in-person sessions, I travel to the student's preferred location on Oahu — whether that's a home, library, coffee shop, or other suitable setting. There is no separate fee or surcharge for in-person sessions. However, round-trip travel time to and from the session location is included as part of the booked time and billed at the same hourly or package rate. Online sessions do not include any travel time.
For example, if a 3-hour time slot is booked and the drive is approximately 30 minutes each way, I will generally begin traveling at the start of the slot, arrive and begin tutoring approximately 30 minutes in, continue until approximately 30 minutes before the end, and use the remaining time to travel back. The exact timing may vary depending on traffic and location.
I work to minimize travel time whenever possible. When scheduling allows — for instance, if I have another student nearby before or after your session — I may be able to reduce or eliminate travel time for one or both sessions. However, this depends on scheduling and geography and is not guaranteed. All time slots and package hours should be planned with travel time in mind. I am always happy to discuss estimated travel time for your location before we begin.
7. Scheduling and Cancellations
Sessions are scheduled in advance by mutual agreement. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours' notice before the scheduled session time. Cancellations made with 48 or more hours' notice will not be charged.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session rate. For package clients, the session hours will be deducted from the remaining balance. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a requirement to prepay for future sessions.
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients (and parents or guardians, where applicable) are responsible for providing accurate information about the student's academic needs and goals. Students are expected to be punctual for scheduled sessions and to communicate any changes or concerns in a timely manner.
9. Code of Conduct
All participants — students, parents, and guardians — are expected to maintain a respectful and constructive environment during sessions. Oahu Prep reserves the right to end a session early or discontinue services if any participant engages in behavior that is disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate. In such cases, the session will still be charged in full.
10. Intellectual Property
Materials created or provided during tutoring sessions — including notes, worksheets, practice problems, and educational resources — are the intellectual property of Oahu Prep and are provided for the student's personal educational use only. These materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared publicly without prior written consent.
11. No Guarantee of Results
While Oahu Prep strives to help every student improve, tutoring is a collaborative process and outcomes depend on many factors including the student's effort, attendance, and engagement outside of sessions. Oahu Prep does not guarantee specific grades, test scores, or academic outcomes.
12. Limitation of Liability
Oahu Prep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our services. In no event shall Oahu Prep's total liability exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific session or package in question.
13. Changes to Terms
Oahu Prep may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be filed in the state or federal courts located in the State of Hawaii.
